This can happen if you have an older version of Pickle installed (Pickle 1). To install Pickle 2 you need to remove the old version of the app, or simply rename it to “Pickle 1”. Run the installer again and Pickle 2 should install fine.

Pickle does check with the server for app updates. You can disable this feature in the app preferences.
